DVA Hearing Assessment

Amongst veterans’ tinnitus and hearing loss are two of the most common conditions that affect Australian Defence former members. Veterans of all ages experience these due to be exposed to loud noises during their military service and training. If you are part of the HSP as a client or a card holder you are eligible for a no cost DVA Hearing Assessment.

The Australian Government provide hearing services to veterans through the Hearing Services Programme and through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Eligible Pensioners and Department of Veterans Affairs

Veterans along with eligible Pensioners are entitled to Free to Client hearing aids through the Hearing Services Program.  These hearing aids will meet the needs of most DVA clients.  DVA can then further support Veteran’s by funding:

  • Tests to determine if their hearing loss or tinnitus is service-related.
  • Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs)
  • Hearing Aid Maintenance and Batteries for their hearing aids.
  • Treatment for Tinnitus

You are eligible for the voucher component of the program if you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident 21 years or older and you are:
